TTE was founded by Mark in 2011 to provide outcome focused services to the public and third sector.

Mark has worked extensively in the public sector as practitioner, manager and commissioner. Amongst other roles Mark has worked as a young persons drug and alcohol practitioner, project manager for TaMHS (Targeted Mental Health in Schools) phase 1 pathfinder for the DCSF (Dept Children, Schools and Families) and as a child health commissioner for the NHS.

With The Training Effect Mark has developed a range of training courses and services for local authorities and organisations across the UK.

Since 2013 Mark has been developing the Risk-Avert programme in partnership with Essex public health.

An innovative multi-component intervention focused on the early identification of risk-taking/exploratory behaviours, this programme is now delivered to over 30 secondary schools in two local authority areas in the southeast with planned expansion to further unitary and two tier authorities in 2015.

Mark’s main professional interests include: substance misuse, risk-taking / exploratory behaviours, emotional health and well-being and the development of resilience.

ben lovatt

Ben is a highly experienced practitioner with over 10 years of experience planning, developing and delivering within frontline services. This has incorporated delivery within the private, public and voluntary sector with both statutory and non-statutory bodies.

Ben’s experience includes community development initiatives; the provision of bespoke participation projects; direct therapeutic one-to-one support; universal and targeted group work; CPD and training. Ben’s practice has seen him work both locally and nationally and he has huge experience engaging with high risk and vulnerable young people from marginalised groups and communities.

Ben’s expertise sit within engagement of young people and risky behaviour. Ben has extensive knowledge and experience within a range of settings. Some of which include drugs and alcohol; child sexual exploitation; violence against women and girls; domestic abuse; peer on peer abuse; healthy relationships; working with victims of crime and child on parent violence amongst others.

With a first class honours and an MSc in Coaching, Ben’s approach to service delivery supports a needs-led approach and is underpinned by a coaching, participation and solution focused model. Ben is a huge advocate of protective behaviours and working with young people to identify competence. Ben is passionate about working with young people to support them in achieving their maximum potential and in turn positively contributing to society.

jasmine hawkes

Jasmine joined TTE in September 2021 and provides support for all of our projects with a specific focus on the administration of Risk-Avert and our work in Oxfordshire. 

Jasmine is a highly experienced administrator and before joining TTE gained significant expertise within the security industry. 

When not busy with her young family Jasmine enjoys horse riding and the countryside.Â
